Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie Recipe 🍓

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie.png

It’s no secret that I love starting my day with a smoothie. I’m always showing my smoothies over on IG stories and I legit have so much fun trying out new recipes! I like having them for breakfast because they leave me feeling light and energized since I fill them with fiber + healthy fats.

I’m the type of person who kind of likes to eat with the seasons (have you seen my pumpkin smoothie recipe from the fall and my peppermint mocha smoothie recipe from Christmastime?) so today’s recipe is right in line with that: STRAWBERRIES!

Not only do strawberries remind me of February because of the Valentine’s vibes, but I actually went to high school (and still live fairly near) the “winter strawberry capital” of the country: Plant City!

I think I’ve had this smoothie for breakfast for the last 4 weeks straight and I’m okay with that. Let’s get into the recipe!

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 cups of unsweetened vanilla almond milk

  • Handful of ice

  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds

  • 1 serving of chocolate protein (I use this one)

  • 1 tablespoon of nut butter (I used raw almond butter)

  • 5 strawberries

  • If you are feeling brave and don’t mind your smoothie being not so aesthetic: 1 handful of frozen kale or spinach

  • Optional toppings: cacao nibs

What You’ll Do:

Put all ingredients (except for the toppings) in a high speed blender (I use a Vitamix - you can see which one in my Amazon store here) and blend away. Pour your smoothie into a cute mason jar (bc why drink a smoothie if it's not aesthetic, am I right), add the toppings, pop a metal straw in, and enjoy!

Some reasons why we love strawberries:

  • High in antioxidants

  • Good source of fiber, potassium, and manganese

  • They just taste really good, lol

I hope y’all love this recipe as much as I do! Let me know if you try it!
