How I simplified my beauty routine to make more room for actual rest
My approach to planning fun (but minimal!) summer events
The 5 self-care habits I’m prioritizing to prep for a peaceful fall
Let’s be so for real — “self-care” in the summer isn’t always as dreamy as it sounds.
Between jam-packed weekends, trying to stay cool, and wanting to rest and be productive, it’s easy to feel scattered. This summer, I’m trying something different. I’m calling it my Champagne Summer — inspired by a book I read—and it’s all about joy, lightness, and setting myself up for a peaceful, aligned fall.
Sounds so dreamy and fun, right? If you’re just as interested as I was when I first heard about it, here are 5 ways I’m making that happen — maybe they’ll inspire you too!
01. Simplify What’s Draining You
For me, that meant my beauty maintenance routine. I had appointments stacked on top of appointments (lashes, nails, hair—you name it), and it was eating into my margin. I wanted my Fridays back—my slow mornings, my spontaneous bookstore runs, my YouTube filming days.
So I scaled back. I swapped lash extensions for a lash lift + tint. I created a 5-minute makeup routine that still makes me feel put together. And I started using my Pinterest outfit board (based on clothes I already own!) to eliminate decision fatigue.
✨ What’s eating up more time than it’s worth right now? Start there.
02. Romanticize Summer With a Few Intentional Events
Confession: I don’t love summer 🤫. (Hi, I live in Florida. It’s, like, rly hot.)
So instead of jamming my calendar full or avoiding plans altogether, I’m taking a middle-ground approach: 2 short trips + weekly Family Memory Mondays.
Trip 1: Beach with my family for the 4th of July
Trip 2: Girls’ trip to Blue Ridge in mid-July
Mondays: Adam, Evvy, and I do something fun together as a family
✨ You don’t need a packed calendar to make summer feel magical—just a few moments to look forward to.
03. Declutter Your Tech (Yes, It Counts as Self-Care)
My digital spaces are… not it. And the stress they bring? Also, not it.
So this summer, I’m giving my tech the glow-up it deserves—and I’m doing it with the BFF Membership crew during our Q3 focus: Digital Decluttering + Organization.
On my list:
Photo roll
Google Drive
Canva files
Notion dashboards
Email inbox
Phone apps
Laptop desktop
✨ Imagine heading into fall with clean digital spaces. That’s peace.
04. Refresh Routines Before You Need Them
Fall always sneaks up fast. And I don’t want to be scrambling to create routines after I already need them. So I’m using summer to proactively update my:
🧼 Cleaning routine – What needs to shift? What’s realistic?
🗓 Monthly planning sessions – Adding holiday prep tasks now so future-me isn’t overwhelmed
✨ Creating routines from a calm place is way more fun than building them in survival mode.
05. Give Yourself a Mid-Year Vision Reset
Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean you can’t have “new year” energy.
Last month, I created a brand new vision board, and it lit me up. I reassessed my goals, threw out what no longer fits, and mapped out my Focus Goals for the rest of the year.
Let me tell you—it made me excited for the rest of 2025.
✨ You're not behind. You’re allowed to pivot. Growth looks good on you.
