What Is a Mind Movie? (And How I Made One to Rewire My Subconscious)

Keep reading this post to learn:

  • What a mind movie is and the science behind how it works

  • How I made mine using Canva and what I included in each life category

  • The surprising thing that happened after I started watching mine every day

In case you didn’t know, our brain is incredibly powerful. And sometimes, the best thing you can do for your goals is to stop overthinking…and start visualizing.

That’s where mind movies come in.

I’ve been watching mine every night for the past month, and I’m not even being dramatic when I say it’s been life-changing. After sharing my mind movie practice on Instagram, I’ve been bombarded (in a good way) with questions about all things mind movies. So let’s talk about what a mind movie is, how it works, and how you can make one for yourself!

01. What Is a Mind Movie?

A mind movie is a short, personalized video that helps you visually and emotionally connect with your goals. Think of it like a vision board…but in motion.

Here’s what makes it so effective:

  • It taps into your subconscious mind, which controls habits, emotions, and behavior

  • It uses neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to rewire itself) to create new thought patterns

  • It brings your goals into focus through repetition and emotion

TL;DR: A mind movie gives your brain daily exposure to the life you’re building — so your choices naturally start to align with that vision.

02. How I Made My Mind Movie

I created mine in Canva and kept it under 90 seconds. Here’s how I broke it down:

  • Intro Slide: A 15-second cloud video with 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 over it

  • 5 Life Categories: Each one had a mini vision board that played for 15 seconds

    • Day-to-Day Life

    • Home

    • Work

    • Well-Being

    • Summer Cabin

  • Music: “Good Day” by Forrest Frank (the lyrics make me cry in the best way)

I saved the video as an .mp4, used Viva Video to add music, and now I watch it during my evening wind-down routine.

03. Why It Works (And What Happened When I Started Using It)

The first week I watched my mind movie, I cried. Every. Single. Night.
It was that moving to see my goals and prayers come to life on screen. And the best part? It doesn’t make me feel pressured — it makes me feel grounded, excited, and so connected to the life I’m creating.

And get this: on my “Home” slide, I included images of a family-friendly neighborhood — because that’s something Adam and I had been dreaming about. Within a week of watching the movie daily, we stumbled on our dream neighborhood during a casual drive. We even put in an offer on a house (didn’t get it, but still!).

It was a tangible reminder that what we focus on…starts showing up.

04. How to Use Yours

I watch mine every evening after we put Everly to bed. It’s part of my legs-up-the-wall wind-down, and it takes less than 2 minutes. You could also:

  • Watch it in the morning as a mindset reset

  • Add affirmations or scripture over your vision boards

It’s not about doing it perfectly — it’s about consistency and connection.

Final Thoughts: Your Goals Deserve to Be Seen

Listen, bestie, you’re allowed to dream big, but you don’t have to hustle your way to your dream life. You can visualize it. Feel it. And let your brain start paving the way — one quiet, powerful moment at a time.
